Privacy Policy

The Callback is a newsletter for home service and trades business owners, published by Hamish Patel. This policy explains what data The Callback collects, why, and what happens to it. It is written plainly because that is how the rest of the newsletter is written.

What we collect

Your email address. This is the main thing. You give it to us when you subscribe. If you also give us a first name or other detail in a signup field, we keep that too.

Basic engagement data. Our email platform (beehiiv) records standard things like whether an email was opened or a link was clicked. This is normal newsletter analytics, not tracking you across the web.

Payment records. If you buy Callback Pro ($19 a month) or a Leak Audit ($149 one time), a record of that purchase exists so we can deliver what you paid for.

What we do not collect

We do not directly collect or store your card number, card details, or bank information. All payments are handled by Stripe. Your card data goes to Stripe, not to Hamish. See Stripe’s own privacy policy for how they handle it.

How we use your data

To send you the newsletter and anything you signed up or paid for. To understand, at a basic level, what people read so the newsletter gets better. To deliver and support paid products (Callback Pro and the Leak Audit). That is the full list. We do not use your data for anything else.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data. Not to anyone, not ever. We do not take money from vendors or tools mentioned in the newsletter, and we do not hand your data to them. We do not send you unrelated marketing from other companies.

Who touches your data

Two main services help run The Callback: beehiiv stores your subscription and sends the emails. Stripe handles payments if you buy something. Both are established providers with their own privacy terms. We share only what is needed for them to do their job.

Unsubscribing and deleting your data

Unsubscribe any time using the link at the bottom of any email. It works immediately. To delete your data, reply to any Callback email and ask to have your information removed. We will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the effective date above will change and, where it matters, we will note it in the newsletter.
